MKFU grieves the passing of its 1st Vice President Esat Delihasan

On behalf of the Mediterranean Karate Federation’s Union, we deeply share our condolences for the loss of our 1st Vice President Esat Delihasan.  The entire MKFU join us in sending our deepest sympathies and understanding during this period of commemoration.  

Esat, was one of the best karatekas. We are all aware of the numerous professional jobs Esat did to support Karate. Additionally, Esat was very active in the MKFU, EKF and WKF particularly as a member of the executive committees. His personality was one of promoting teamwork and positive motivation.  

Esat, was definitely an achiever both as an athlete and as a coach. Moreover, he was re-elected as 1st Vice President of MKFU and he was remarkably achieving every task he was entailed to.  

Please know that we share the pain and sorrow, and we pay our final respects to one of our best friends and comrades. Esat, will certainly be missed by all of us.  

Our deepest sorrow is with his family and the Turkish Karate Federation.

Successful online seminar for Mediterranean and Arab countries

Over 600 Karate representatives from 21 countries participated in a new online seminar. 

Over 600 Karate representatives from 21 countries participated in the online seminar “Methodology of WKF Shiai-Kumite”. The conference was imparted by international expert Antonio Oliva and was attended by WKF President Antonio Espinós, who introduced the seminar to the massive audience of participants.

Organised by the Mediterranean Karate Federation (MKFU) and the Karate Federation of the Arab countries (ARFK), in cooperation with the World Karate Federation, the seminar sparked great interest among Karate enthusiasts in these regions.

Japan Prime Minister, IOC President, Tokyo 2020 President among personalities congratulating WKF on 50th anniversary

The World Karate Federation is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the creation of the organisation and many personalities and sports officials are congratulating Karate’s international governing body on the milestone.

The World Karate Federation is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the creation of the organisation and many personalities and sports officials are congratulating Karate’s international governing body on the milestone. Japan Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, Tokyo 2020 President Yoshiro Mori, and IOC President Thomas Bach are among the dignitaries praising the WKF for reaching five decades of history.

As Karate is getting ready to make its Olympic debut in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, the WKF received the best wishes from the Prime Minister of Japan Yoshihide Suga. A black belt in Karate and a follower of the sport, Mr Suga highlighted his experience in the discipline in a video message sent to the WKF.

“I trained my mind and body in Karate during my time at the university and this discipline has been a big support in my life over the years. As a deep lover of Karate, I look forward to witnessing the historic moments of Tokyo 2020 with all of you”, added Mr Suga. “I wish the World Karate Federation all the success in its future endeavours and all the best for all the Karate family.”

“(The Olympic Games) must be a unique opportunity to spread the value and traditions of Japanese martial arts to the world through the showcase of Karate as a universal sport,” said Japan’s Prime Minister.

Dr. Al Ganas appointed member of the Saudi Arabia Consulate Council

The president and members of Mediterranean Karate Federation Union would like to extend sincere congratulations to Dr. Ibrahim Al Ganas, president of the Saudi Arabian Karate Federation, president of the West Asian Karate Federation and member of WKF executive committee, for the trust of the Saudi Arabian King for appointing him as a member of Saudi Arabia Consultative Council (Majlis Al-Shura), wishing him every success in his new duties.
